Universitas Jember, Indonesia, together with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia, proudly present “Unity in Diversity: A Cultural Mosaic”, a flagship event in the Inspire: International Youth Leadership and Culture Immersion Program. With a theme that highlights the richness and diversity of the archipelago's cultures, this event serves as an excellent platform for cultural exchange aimed at strengthening cross-cultural understanding and brotherhood in the Southeast Asian region.
As part of the archipelago's cultural heritage, Indonesia and Malaysia share common historical and cultural roots, yet evolve in their own unique ways. This event is designed to bridge these differences by celebrating cultural similarities and diversity. Students from both institutions will engage in in-depth discussions, cultural performances and collaborative activities, creating an environment of mutual respect and appreciation for each other's rich cultures.
The event aimed to increase cross-cultural understanding between Indonesian and Malaysian students, strengthen academic and social relationships between institutions, and celebrate the rich culture of the archipelago through interactive activities. In addition, this activity is also expected to inspire other cultural collaboration programs in the future. The series of events include opening remarks from representatives of both universities, a cultural exhibition featuring traditional Indonesian and Malaysian dances, music and clothing, and networking sessions to strengthen meaningful cross-cultural relationships.
This event will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 18.00-21.00 WIB in the Ir. Soekarno Room, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember. Through this activity, the University of Jember invites students to be actively involved in celebrating and exploring the richness of the archipelago's culture while expanding cross-cultural insights.
