The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember, in collaboration with the Fakulti Perniagaan and Pengurusan Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia, is proud to present the International Public Speaking Workshop: Speak with Confidence. This activity is part of the Inspire program: International Youth Leadership and Culture Immersion Program, which aims to hone public speaking skills while strengthening cross-cultural relationships between students from both universities.
In the current era of globalization, public speaking skills have become one of the most needed abilities, both in the academic, professional, and social worlds. This workshop is designed to help students:
1. Master public speaking techniques, including body language management, voice intonation and emotional regulation.
2. Increase confidence in conveying ideas and building effective communication.
3. Understand cultural differences in communication between countries, especially between Indonesian and Malaysian students.
Through this training, participants will not only learn technical speaking skills, but also gain cultural insights that enrich their ability to convey messages effectively in various multicultural contexts.
This workshop will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB. The event will take place in the Ir. Soekarno Room, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember. The series of events include introductory sessions, basic training guided by expert speakers, group speaking practices, live simulations, and feedback sessions. Participants will get hands-on experience and constructive feedback to improve their skills effectively.
This workshop is not just a speaking skills training, but also a platform to build social and academic relationships between students from both universities. This program is expected to become an annual activity in the Inspire Program series, with various topics that are increasingly in-depth to provide sustainable benefits for students.
